Biography: Born in Temesvar, Hungary in 1911 and died in Budapest in 1982. He was a graphical artist and a medical doctor. Paralleling his medical work, he studied art in Szeged, Hungary with Masters Vilmos Aba Novak Vilmos and Gyorgy Buday, also in Italy and Austria. His early woodcuts showed a strong Expressionist and Surrealist influence, from which he transitioned to more dramatic and epic themes. His work often conveyed personal symbolism and a unique sense of balance. He regularly exhibited in Hungary (Budapest’s National Szechenyi Library and Csok Gallery, Mora Ferenc Museum in Szeged, and in Jaszbereny), Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Poland. He brochures, posters and book illustrations won many awards at international gatherings, including France’s Valentin Le Campion and Nancy-in-rel Diploma d’Honneur medals and a Florence Academy Honor. From 1950 onwards, he was a membership of the Fine Art Academy in Florence, Italy.
