Biography: Born in Orci, Hungary in 1869 and died in Somogytur, Hungary in 1962. He first graduated college with a Doctorate of Law prior to his art studies, which began at the Mintarajz School (Sample Drawing School) with Masters Janos Greguss and Pal Vago. In1892 he studied at Simon Hollósy’s private school in Munich. Later he spent three years at the Julian Academy in Paris with Masters J.P. Laurens and B. Constant. He lived in Paris between 1901 and 1913 and took part in the Société National des Beaux Arts and the Salon d' Automne’s exhibitions. He exhibited his work extensively in the Kunsthalle and internationally. He painted realistic portraits, impressionistic landscapes and genre paintings of rural folk taking part in their daily village life around Somogytur. In 1925 he received the Hungarian State’s Artist of Merit Award for his works in pastel. Several of his paintings are in the permanent collection of the Hungarian National Gallery.
